What a predicament: Another Toy Box Tease

As “Anal August” wraps up, I thought today’s dive into the toy box would be one of the toys that most intimidated, yet intrigued me for anal play.  Once I started playing with it, I was hooked, so to speak.  This is a toy that I not only love to use on myself but also enjoy using it on my husband.  Folks, I’m talking about the anal hook!

I remember the first time I saw an anal hook.  It was in porn, of course, and it was a video of predicament bondage. I was just starting my own kink journey, and the idea of a hook in my or my husband’s ass scared the crap out of me.  I imagined that something would go wrong followed by a trip to the emergency room.  Yikes!  However, my husband and I were also really intrigued with the idea of predicament bondage and a hook seemed like a great way to explore that together.  

My husband had limited experience with predicament bondage before. We wanted to find something we could both use to explore our predicament bondage scenes.  There is something fairly medieval about a stainless steel anal hook.  I actually love the intimidating look of it.  We bought our hook for about $25.  It is stainless steel with a single one inch round ball on one end and a loop on the other.  It has an overall length of 10 inches.  The insertable length is roughly three inches, and the widest part of the U-bend is about 4 inches.  What all those numbers mean is that this was a much more comfortable toy than I had expected despite the stainless steel having a squish factor of zero.  

If you are new to anal play, this might be an issue for shy anuses despite the small diameter.  For the not so shy among us, there are options for much larger sizes. And some have interchangeable balls in a variety of shapes and sizes.  Stainless steel also means that this toy is incredibly easy to clean, sanitize, and store.  Clean with soap and water, wipe with sanitizing wipes, boil it, or put it in the dishwasher and store dry.  This is a very durable toy when cared for properly.

The hook is one of those fun toys that we have in our toy box that I like to use both as a Top and a bottom.  When it arrived, my hubby and I were so excited.  Since he had used something similar before, we wanted him to use it first, and he was excited to try it with me.  I had him stand with his hands braced in a door frame, and I had his ball gag in his mouth.  I lubed both him and the hook and slipped it into his ass.  It goes in very easily with minimal prep and a little lube. (He does NOT have a shy anus)  I slipped a line through the circle at the top of the hook and ran it up to his gag.  I threaded the line through the strap of the gag until his head was pulled back.  So if he tried to lower his head it would force the hook further into his ass.  I spanked his ass, and he had to keep his head back.  Grabbing the handle allows me to manipulate the ball to add extra stimulation to his prostate, which is lots of fun when I tease his cock with my other hand.

There are some safety concerns that must be addressed when using the hook.  In pursuing predicament play, you must make sure that there isn’t a risk of intestinal damage from the hook.  We never anchor it in such a way that the entire weight of the person will, or could be on the hook.  There are always other anchor points for the weight of the person.  Once again, NEVER SUSPEND SOMEONE WITH AN ANAL HOOK! Always keep safety shears on standby to cut rope or use a quick release mechanism for an emergency.  Inspect your hook regularly to make sure there are no burrs or rough spots that could potentially cause damage. 

Overall, there is still a lot more we want to explore with our anal hook.  Adding vibration by using my hitachi, varying the temperature and exploring more creative scenes and evil scenes of predicament bondage while still being safe.
